Speaking of Fender Japan...My buddy just ordered a Strat 12 string in Lake Placid Blue 1 week ....I'm like, why didn't you buy a Rick (he really wanted a 660/12 the dealer said minimum 18 month wait ) But But But...you could have bought used...Oh well, I hope it is nice when it comes in - He only paid $700.00 with hardshell case. But it certainly won't have the Jangle of the 660/12.

I think it looks great like that, Sean, leave the chrome hardware as is.

How about a fretless John?

Or fretted - would need the frets dressed:

I like everything about that Strat except the headstock. IMO, in terms of electric 12s, Ric is the only one whoever figured out how to make decent looking headstock. It's all subjective of course, and some are better than others, but that Fender stock is not among the best, IMO....and I like Fender guitars a lot!

Rickenbacker sure had the 12 string headstock as compact as possible and works quite well.
Check out this Strat Headstock on the MIJ 12 string:

Great bass Sean. I feel though it the neck's not all black it should be all maple. I just like that look.
