My 4001 has back trim and white binding on the next as well. 8)

My white 1975 has white neck binding and black around the body as well.

That is laminated binding not necessarily double bound. Most often it is two pieces of .020" binding acetoned together applied in one pass. The thickness of .040" is slightly less than the standard white binding which on 70's and later Ricks is .060".

Interesting that this one has wavy grovers...I didn't think those were available in 1978.

Those Grovers appeared on and off well into the 80's. I have seen them on basses as late as '86.
