Yeah, I dunno. I'm 50-50 about it. There was stuff being made that IS legit that is very close to the way this piece is made, if not outright identical.

This is why I said it's funky. I do appreciate all of the opinions, and pics of period basses would be neat to see if you wish to post them.

Jeff, yours looks the closest to the one I just got, except the raised portions on yours where the adj. screws are set up higher, and are more rounded.

Yours is a classic example of what the 'sharp edge' surrounds look like.

I couldn't swear to it because I've not studied them all, but surrounds from Jap copies tend to have symmetrical screwholes. This one might be a fake replacement part, like the bridges Allparts sell.
