Markbass LMII head and a Rickenbacker Transonic cabinet.

Bill, since you're not using the `57RI right now, I've got a gig coming up.....

Guitar: AC30 of course. Nothing compares to it with a Rick (or anything else)

Bass: Ashdown ABM300 with Eden 2x12 cab

I'm very fortunate in having a few "go to" amps, and what determines what I go to is the selection of tunes I am playing, and the time I am playing-I play in my music room most of the time and am considerate of my neighbors eardrums......

The first is my Rivera M60 head into a 4 Celestion speaker cab. This amp has two channels (clean and gain) and is VERY tunable to the sound you are looking for. It is also a master volume rig and produces sweet tone at bedroom levels. It utilizes it's own footswitch, and I have an Ibanez eu400 effects unit for delay, chorus, phaser and compressor. the effects unit als has a gain channel but I don't generally use it.

My next go to would be either my jmi ac15 or jmi ac30. Both are awesome and stock....

I just bought a Fender Vibrolux and am loving it too.....It has an awesome tremolo and reverb, and is loaded with jbl 10's.

Same amp for gigging since 1995, a Fender Deluxe Reverb 1973 silverface with blackfaced circuitry and cosmetics.

Hmmm......... let me see....... probably the JC-120 but then there's the AC-30. Decisions..........

If I have to pick one, the easy choice is my THD Flexi. Every guitar sounds good with my normal setup. If I want to do something very special, I can completely re-tube and re-bias it inside five minutes and basically have a completely different sounding amp.

(More than you asked for below:)
Currently, my second in line is a DC30 clone. It requires a little bit of careful handling through the EF86 channel for higher output guitars- a little harder to do clean loud, and it takes a little bit of knob work when switching guitars. It took me forever to get to like the 12AX7 channel, but that is about the easiest vehicle for getting a good clean sound at volume.

Running either loud, clean and bright with the neck pickup and switching the other (usually I run the DC30 clean, but I hate missing out on the EF86 distortion) between clean and dirty in a ROS configuration is one of my favorite sounds in the universe. I sometimes substitute a Motion Sound keyboard amp for the clean neck pickup amp.

I'm working on some custom designs of my own these days, but I don't think any surpass the Flexi for versatility.

I've been through alot of amps and it has come down to one sweetheart of an amp. My 64' BF Deluxe Reverb Clone.
Point to point, Mercury Magnet Tranny's, Celestion Blue Speaker. Portable, Trem and Reverb, dependable, and It gets the tone I like no matter what I plug in.
But the Rick really likes it.

If non-Rickaholics ever question the versatility of Rickenbacker guitars, then they ought to read this thread. Consider the wide array of amplifiers we list as our "go-to" sound boxes. It's further proof that Rics can and do achieve a multitude of sonic, tonal, and resonant results. Cool responses. Keep 'em comin', fellow players. Play on, pick often, and prosper.

I finally found an illustration of it at VintageKustom.com

My go-to amp will be my Fender Blues Deluxe. It will be not only the best amp I own, but will also be the only good amp I own.

I also have two practice amps, but they both suck, and I'm glad to be saying good-bye to them!
