I use my 2000 model 360-12 with the Toasters more than any other Rickenbacker I own and I really like this guitar. It has such a special sound. -BC

My Comstock gets the most play of any of my Rics, and my go-to electric Ric is my 330 Purpleburst. I adore them both.... But then I don't think there is a Ric I don't like, as long as it hasn't been Frankensteined!

Melissa,

By liking everything, you open yourself up to a severe GAS weakness. For instance, by declaring that I deplore gold hardware, that eliminates certain "high end" models from my GAS list. Next, by being a brand snob, I eliminate about 75% of all guitars from my "must-have" list. Next, by turning my nose to certain non-standard woods and colors, I keep things down to "brass tax", if you will, thereby protecting myself against vulernability to certain "exotic" materials and esoteric nuances. Finally, by arguing these points with people online, I intentionally try to manipulate others into seeing it my way, and even question if they still like the very item that they were bragging about prior to my influence. This cuts back on people showing off and heralding their guitars, which, in turn, helps keep my GAS at bay. Hope this helps !

Steve

What if the the Rickenbacker in question has been "Rickensteined" by Dale or Paul, meaning full width inlays, CB, popsicle glow finished, et cetera? :D

Scott, by "Frankensteined" I mean Rics that have been butchered by people with no sense or talent, like some of the pathetic things that come up on eBay once in a while--like the ones that have been routed out to accomodate non-Ric pickups, or the ones that have all kinds of weird knobs and switches added....

Paul's or Dale's work is terrific, and I wouldn't consider anything they do to be "Frankensteined" at all... They have the good sense not to butcher great guitars, and are the ones I would trust to restore such monstrosities back to their original glory.... My Purpleburst 330 and my Blueburst 481 are both fine examples of Paul's handiwork! :D
