I started on bass, then switched to guitar.

My first Ric bass was a used, spotless, "closet classic" `79 Jetglo 4001. Unfortunately for me, a gas playing friend talked me into selling that one a long while back.

My first Rick guitar was an Azureglo 360 WB. I still have that one :D

1992 360/12 MG and 1967 450 MG
1992 360/12 MG and 1967 450 MG
BTW, my grand-niece has the 450 now ... maybe I need to talk her into letting me have that one back!

A '95 370/12SPC in fireglo. Walked into PJ's Guitars in San Clemente and he told me I could have anything I liked hanging on his wall in even trade for my old '62 ES330TD, checked to hell. I think Bob's heard this story a few times. I wish I'd kept it. That was the first of 6 370/12SPC's I've owned over the years...

1969 Rickenbacker 360/12 Mapleglo.

I was a DoD brat living on Okinawa and practically living on the U.S. Army Golf Course, Awase Meadows. One of my golfing buddies was an Army enlisted man. Dude was a great golfer as were his buds and they let me tee it up with 'em for some spirited competition. Just before he rotated back to a Stateside assignment, he gave me his Ric. Imagine that, just handed it over to me. Man, I was stoked! I couldn't thank him enough as I rode this wave of euphoria. Come to think of it, he also gave me a canary-yellow Gordon & Smith surfboard a couple of years earlier. Whew, brought both the board and git when I went Stateside to attend the University of California at Santa Cruz. The board met an untimely end on the rocks at Steamer Lane one late summer day. The Mapleglo? Darn, someone stole it from me during an extended break from jamming at a party on campus. I was so ticked off I swore if I ever caught the thief I would personally hand him over to the Yakuza. Like D.B. Cooper, said culprit has never been identified nor come forward to 'fess up. And the beat goes on....

Play on, pick often, and prosper. Regards....Goofyfoot.
