Welcome Edward! :D I too, have a wonderful 4001V63, a '98. Here is a pic of it with a new pickguard and finger rest from Pickguardian. You will also note the bent up horseshoes.

looks great : love the wood grain , what is a pickguardian ? i am a little nervous about bending up the horsehoe pu, any suggestions ?

Tony makes great pickguards and other accessories.

Bending the shoes is very easy to do with simple tools and some hardware from your local hardware store. I did detail the procedure in a post but I would have to search for it. Try doing a search for bending horseshoes. Here are some pics of the HS on my '73 4001 which was the first one I did.
