My first clue was the very electric-sounding upright. Hmm... love those old "live" TV performances!grazioso wrote:that's a nice old guitar but the sound doesn't match the guitar. it is sound of telecaster or esquire. you can also see burton playing gretsch 6120 in one of those clips and sound is telecaster as well. friend of mine - a rockabilly cat- asked james about it couple years ago and he said that james relied that he never in those days used anything but tele style guitars with extra light strings.
