Nope I like to keep my virgin 8) , besides I've never had problems with any Ric bridge before this. Hipshot is a whole tailpiece that will be considered an eyesore in 20 years just like the basses you see on ebay with different tailpieces.

Well we can only hope that they look like the same tailpieces that are on there now. I've always hated unsightly mods done to basses unless they're Sergio pickups that is  .

Hey it's my fifth anniversary in one week.

re:unsightly mods- every time i pull my 4000 out of the case, bassists notice the bridge immediately and the comments are always favorable-personally i think the hipshot looks better than the original as well. also, that would be fantastic if rickenbacker would actually offer their basses with the hipshot as an option-they are not going to come up with anything better, and the retail price on the hipshot is substantially less than the rickenbacker unit.

I've never had problems with the bridges except for this new one, one thing I'd like to see though is allen screws rather than phillips screws to adjust the intonation in the bridge, one other thing also is that holes could be drilled through the two holes where the allen screws are on either side of the bridge right into the wood, this keeps the bridge upright, no tip no matter how high it is set to. Otherwise I can't understand all the complaints about them and I've owned more than 20 4001's and 4003's, probably closer to thirty since 1977.

If this is indeed the case, I only see a win-win situation here. Hipshot makes great products and they are American made. Using whatever new tailpiece/bridge design John Hall came up with along with Hipshot manufacturing, everybody wins. :D
