They will give you a minimal amount for your bass and sell it for $500 more than they gave you ...

also the 4003 is supposed to be able to take any kind of strings ...

I guess I can't argue with that. I'm the guy that takes his horseshoes off and throws them in a drawer where they belong.

Mine all do. Yes they're a little quirky, but its not very hard to make them work.

Okay...That's not the kind of spinner I'm talking about and you knew it Paul.

I'm going home now.

There is a one-year warranty on finish. Nothing to honor.

Who knows what the bass was through before you got it? If a company had to provide a no question asked warranty on a product abused by knuckleheads, they would either have to charge twice the price and just send you a new one, or go out of business quickly.

Lonnie, don't do anything rash! Can you post detailed pictures of the back of the tailpiece, and also from the side including the whole side?

Ric really should fix this tailpiece problem ...

Why do they continue to sell basses with parts that fail?

Or the other question is why do people resist adding 2 extra screws so much? It works 100% of the time and there is almost no cost to it.

i got the bass new in o6. i'll try to get pics. the finish is cracking about an 1"-2" near the front along both sides of the tailpeice. right now its chipping small flakes on the top side.

If you really want to sell this bass then I will buy it and convert it into a bass like this one here ...

i went to the guitar center to see about a trade for my 06 4003 jg (they offerd me a grand). the only thing that caught my eye was a frettless warwick corvette standard. i own a fretted version and i like the feel and the snap & pop tone it has but when we got down the deal i just couldn't do it, even with the tailpeice problem as well as hoping they'll honer the warranty on other problems should they come up. so now i'm back to square one and i going to get the hipshot chrome brass replacement as soon as i get the doe. thanks for the feed back.
