Keep in mind that Clapton has probably lost about 80% of his hearing and admits it. He's under the impression that his current strat tone sounds the same as his old Gibson tone.

One of the reasons I like Alvin Lee so much is his tone! Nothing beter than a 335! Well, the White Falcon of JB's is pretty cool, but I have never heard one.

Me too Charlie and Alvin put a Strat P/U in Big Red. Check out Motel Blues from Saguitar on I tunes now there's some great Alvin Gibson/Strat tones.

Yup, I knew about the Strat pickup. I'm not going to do that just yet, but I am putting in a varitone on the Epi , hopefully this weekend. I figured I may as well put up a pic of the Signature Model.

Different animals for sure. The Falcon does twang, and can really roar too (think "Baba O'Riley" or "Won't Get Fooled Again"). A 335 has that really fat, creamy tone.
