Well, he must be really impressed with a 4004Cii; it's been a while that he's been playing it.
She is a real beauty, Angelo. We are all awaiting your impressions and some good pics - gotta show off that fabulous maple!

Ok everybody sorry for the delay, it was also my grandson's 7th birthday today so had to go visit the little guy, well first off she is a stunning bass, the finish is gorgeous, as Ben said in another thread, (Angelo is lucky that bass shipped otherwise I would have sprinted out with it and put that thing in my trunk)Hey Ben my hats off to you and the staff great job on the finish you people are top shelf, pass that along to your staff for me if you would be so kind, I took to the feel, sound, and tone of her right away, (I think I even got a woody from her im not sure but there was definitly some movment down there LOL)First thing I played on her was the Strawbs "THE LIFE AUCTION" from the "GHOSTS " album, all in all I was very impressed with my new girl and glad I made the purchase,So let me take this moment to thank Mr Chris Clayton ( P O T R) and Mr Joey Vasco (Rickenbrother) for thier insight and knowlage of the 4004Cii which in return convinced me to pull the trigger and order this fabulous instrument, and would also like to thank Mr John Hall and the great staff of the Rickenbacker International Corperation for the fine job they do in produceing these great instruments,Todd and Ron it was awsume to meet you, and yes Todd the little one got her benedryl and is feeling alittle better( he is refferring to my cocker spaniel Gia whom he met today) Gia is a regular at Pick of the Ricks loves her uncle Chris, and Rickenbackers, the only thing I would like to see on it is a seperate volume control for each pick up, other than that she was definitly worth the wait, well as far as pictures, i dont own a digital camera, or a printer scanner, but my daughter does and knows how to post pictures, she set up my myspace for me she knows how to do all that stuff, will have to get her to photogrph all my basses and put them on my myspace, well all my good friends you take good care and please, please, please, stay safe always, "HAPPY RICKEN"

Actually, that was me that was gonna snatch that bass Angelo! So glad you like it, I was very pleased with how the 4004's turned out, and I'm glad that it seems to be Forum members that are going to get at least some of them. Take good care of that baby!

I'm not usually one to push the mods but VVT works really well on my Laredo. Others will chime in with their perspective but Chris could do the mod for you easily. Congrats again.

Concentric pots are a nice and completely reversible option.

Angelo, you could also go with concentric pots and have vol/tone for each pickup.
Just play and get to know it for now - plenty of time for mods later!
Eric, even on John's cell picture, that bass looks just wonderful. Kudos to you and the gang!

Congrats again Angelo!
I"m really happy it worked out for you!
It really looks like a sweet bass.
Eric, it really looks like you guys nailed the burst process. I still can't get over how sweet my 4003FL AFG came out. You folks really blended it wonderfully.
Now the big question, and I'm not trying to be a wise guy here, but since it seems everyone loves the 4004's, any ideas as to why they really haven't caught on yet?
Joey has a theory, and I think he's nailed it, but I'd like to hear from you folks....what's the deal? Do you think it is the vintage thing that people are after?

Well, Lemmy does play his 4004LK, but, yeah, no other notables seem to have caught on. I hope my Blueburst Cii comes within the next week or so. When you check shipments and see one going to North Coast Music, that'll be mine!!!
