I don't think so, Dennis. I've checked out Gary's a couple of times and it seemed standard (1-5/8") to me. I tried to steal it but he watches it like a hawk!! :twisted:

Yeah, a standard RIC width neck. The Bacon/Day book quoted Derek Davis (RIC VP '86 - '91)
as saying that the SH had a wider neck. But it doesn't. (Maybe one of the prototypes had a wider neck?)

I wonder if it's modelled on the fair lady's neck itself. If that's the case, no wonder it felt so bloody good!!!

Ah--maybe that's the source of my confusion.
I have played one that I suspect was not a production model, and the neck seemed quite different from those on most Ricks. Unfortunately, I've never played a production model, so I can't make the comparison.
Should'a' got out the measuring tools, I guess!

Larger headstock std with neck. Played one at the penn guitar show. Great guitar.
