I've seen a lot of those Engrish photos, and I have to say, some of them just look plain faked. I know the translation is a bear, but some of the ones I've seen make me think people have taken a funny concept and twisted it so they could participate. Nothing here, I'm talking about emails I've gotten.

It was even funnier when I tried to read it aloud to my husband, who just gave me a funny look and rolled his eyes....

Well, here in Oz the Mitsubishi company wanted a bigger and tougher version of the Colt (little hatch thing) to try to compete with the then RX7 etc. Well a car was designed (or selected) by the boys in japan.
"What to call it"? Japan asked and the big wigs in Australia said "What about "Stallion""
So these cars were delivered with a badge that said "Starion" and they kept that name for years......

There is a similar story about the Nissan Cedric as well.

That may be the single most incredible line in history of the english language. That is hilarious, Paul. A few NAMM shows ago, me and the guy I work with started looking for the catalog with the most hilarious translations, and this takes me back. I wish I would have kept some of those things to share. I don't think any of them were this good, though.

Online translations of Japanese are always interesting. Take this description of a 381 from Ishibashi:

Vintage reissue of peculiar body curve "381". It is a luxury model in TOP who used the material of ..fine quality.. Maple.
It stands out, and a terrible wound is and most similar new articles conditions

And their disclaimer about stock being sold before you make an enquiry:
