There you go! Thanks for the 411 Leesh! :D

Hmm, maybe I'll keep collecting cool vintage type gear, do some research, and go into business. I am in the area :D

That seems to settle that.

I saw a little of this film somewhere (I'd like to say VH1 Classic), and thought it was so good, I needed to buy the DVD!

So I did, and I enjoyed it. Tom Hanks did well with this. It's easy to see that Guy and Faye had good chemistry when Guy did more looking out for her than Jimmy! It had a good start, great ending, and a catchy theme song!

I'm surprised why Jimmy (the guy with the 360/12V64) was paired up with a 12-string instead of a 6-string. A 1997 RM RI would have looked cooler on him, but that's my opinion.

Here's a note about Voxfest VI that was held in May, 2005 at History for Hire.
Rickenbacker will have a display there, as will Korg (parent company of Vox). Lots of great vintage gear will be on display -- partly because Voxfest is being held at History for Hire. If you don't know about HfH, it's the prop house that supplies a large amount of the historically accurate props for many Hollywood productions, including That Thing You Do, American Dreams, and the recent Elvis miniseries.

I was once offered a 360/12V64 that was purportedly used in the film. The seller supposedly had provenance, but then backed out before the deal could be done.

There were, quite a while ago, two other threads about this movie.

Including comments by me on how similar the title song is to a part of "Lies" by ... uh ... gosh, Peter what was their name?

This one by the Knickerbockers perhaps?

You know, it's based off of a real story

I feel compelled to watch it any time it's on the telly!

I've also developed an urge to buy a piggyback blonde Fender amp! I have enough combos!

Just below a Hard Day's Night, Bob? :)
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

For those that have only seen it on TV, they released a director's cut version that has some really good added footage including a barfight where Jimmy walks off to get Fay out while the rest of the Wonders start playing a wild instrumental.
