Hi Darren,

That was great. I have a Shiloh 6 but have always wanted to hear a RIC 12 acoustic.

Great song to show it off.

Keep 'em coming.

Best,

Timbo

Pretty neat, but I'd love to hear the same sort of test done while playing music more typical of the stuff that gets played on acoustic guitars.

Ah, but that would require someone who PLAYS more typical stuff that gets played on acoustic guitars. Hang on, what's more typical than strumming chords?? :D

What in your estimation would that be, Todd? I have my ideas. But those who've heard me would say that's typical for Jim.

On either of the sixes, I'd expect to hear or play some Piedmont style blues, maybe something from the vast repertoire of Doc Watson. On the 12 string, maybe a Leadbelly cover, or something from Blind Willie McTell perhaps. But that's me.

Well done Darren,
What intrigues me is that the entire wall behind you is covered in Rickenbackers....WOW...and they say there's a shortage of Rickys in Oz ? Appears you have cornered the market mate ! :)

Cheers,
Gary ( modrock )

Darren's videos are great and well played, but they're basically rock music being played on an acoustic guitar. Nothing wrong with that, but in order to complete the evaluation I think you also need something with more individual string work - either flat or finger-picked to show the balance, top-to-bottom the sustain and the tone of individual notes.

This would be nice if we could find anybody who could play it.

Good stuff, Darren, from the Land of Oz. Yep, sometimes we can't adequately articulate an explanation verbally. Your vid proves that point. Thanks for sharing, brah. Best regards.......Goofyfoot.
