Ah-ha!!! Always arsk an expert. Glad I posted my observations. Let me measure this evening, and get back to you.

BTW, it arrived detuned, and with very heavy gauge strings on the front, lower, neck and lighter gauges on the rear, top, neck

Any ideas on what typical tuning could have been for the necks? I know there are numerous rear options (per Brad's), but it appears that the front had something special going on.

It's a 206, but without the stainless edging--22.5" scale.

Which calls to mind the photo on the RIC site--

Mine is identical, but no brightwork edges, and no nail holes, either, which indicates that there never was any brightwork.

..after a thorough disassembly, just some Watco's and a bit of time on the buffing wheels. Oh, and some new stainless steel fasteners, also polished on the wheel. New strings, too.

It's 1957 (ish) again...

PIckups are hot. Why didn't I measure them while I had 'em out? Aaaaarrrggghhhh...

Front neck is tuned straight Open E: E B G# E B E

Rear neck is tuned C6: E C A G E C

This provides a nice selection of possibilities that covers many standards as well as some jazzy/Hawaiian style stuff.

Now, all I have to do is practice, practice...and what with my rekindled love of combo organs and my usual work/Rick schedule, it'll be awhile, but one song at a time until I develop a vocabulary of licks, I think.

Great. It'll give me a place to wear my new Amy Winehouse/Sarah Palin hairpiece.

Paul, plug in a cable and with the pot all the way up (like full volume) measure with an ohmmeter across the tip and sleeve. You should be able to read them both with the switches.

I have my Model 100 tuned to E - being a bass player it was easier to find the notes!

Just a note concerning the opening exclamation in this thread's title (although I realize it's most likely a typo): in New Zealand, the word 'dag' is used to refer to a comical person. The original meaning of this word is 'a lump of fecal matter hanging from a sheep's tail'...

Perhaps Howard could confirm whether this is strictly a bit of 'Kiwi' slang, or a term that's used in 'Oz' as well.

Personally, I'm quite fond of the fact that all of my Kiwi friends consider me to be a 'dag' of the highest odor...er, order...
