seanyfitz wrote:Thanks for the link. I am not so good with the soldering pencil, so I was looking for an actual photo of the proper way to do it and even the proper wire to buy. I wired up one of the fire damaged pickups to a jack and it worked so that was a nice surprise. Thanks again.
There are a number of "soldering tutorials" on the web. Just Google the keywords in quotes. Go to Radio Shack and pick up a 40W iron, a package of electronic rosin-core solder (not acid-core!), and a tin of soldering flux. The flux is key--there's typically not enough in a rosin-core solder to work well on larger lugs and pot cases.
You can also get the wire while you're there--18 gauge stranded hookup wire is what you want. Any color is OK. They sell an assortment of four small different-colored spools in a blister-pack.
Read the tutorial., practice up a bit, and presto! You're the Dark Knight of Soldering...

Sean, If you are unwilling to tackle this yourself I will be willing to do it in my shop for a reasonable rate. Contact me by email if interested.

I absolutely appreciate all the help from the folks on this site. Thanks You folks. I wired up with the Schematic suggested and , with a dollar store soldering pencil and wire from Frentz and Sons in Royal Oak, one of the few honest to goodness hardware stores left. I think my problem stemmed from an understanding of what each wire was for and how the electrons flow. I guess I am one of those people who needs to understand how things work before I can accept that they do LoL.

Hopefully I will have some decent photos up friday. I have a question for the pickup people out there. I have wired the guitar up and it sounds pretty good, a very slight buzz. The problem is that the bridge pickup, which was not in the fire is a lot louder than the neck one which was. Should I pull the shorter pole pieces out of the neck pickup and swap them into one of the none fire damaged coils?? I don't want to drill into the top to accommodate the longer pole pieces.

Contact Sergio on the "Winding with the best" section of this forum. He should be able to fix and/or restore your damaged pickup, or alter them to your specs.
