Not sure what that has to do with this thread, and it's the wrong album anyways. Creative though.

It was too minor for a separate thread and since when does ANY thread stay on topic?

Whats with all the slapping of guitars these days? Kind of like two-hand tapping...looks more impressive than it is.
Back on topic, the inside liner notes of the Sgt. Pepper CD say that the tracks were originally supposed to be in a different order. Anyone know more about this?

Don't know, but it was mainly Paul's project, so I suspect he had the most influence on the order.

(Can't resist....) Michael Hedges? Andy McKee? Yeah, I'm not too impressed with it. (...back to our regularly scheduled program...)

The preview really gave it away.

The original order of side one was supposed to have been:
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
With a Little Help from My Friends
Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite
Fixing a Hole
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Getting Better
She's Leaving Home
I think this order does make a bit more sense, actually.

Very interesting! I can totally see Mr. Kite going right there.

Here's some blasphemy for y'all.... I just listened to Pepper again as I did my first 45 min commute to my new job (I needed something to put me in a good mood). Naturally I've heard it a billion times, but this was the first time in (I guess) a few years. Bottom line.... as great and groundbreaking an album it is, I put it in the
bottom 25% of my
personal favorite Beatle album list.
My favorite? Probably

To take that one step further, I tried assembling an Alternate Peppers, using all mono tracks (On Topic

), that
includes the other Peppers sessions tracks that did not make the LP. I also wanted to incorporate the above list,
which I found somewhere else before reading it here. Here is what I came up with:
Side One (the old timers know what I mean)
------------------------------------------------------
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
With a Little Help from My Friends
Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite
Only A Northern Song
Fixing a Hole
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
Getting Better
She's Leaving Home
Here's Side Two (Tom Petty fans know what I mean)
-------------------------------------------------------------
Strawberry Fields Forever
Penny Lane
Within You Without You
When I'm Sixty-Four
Lovely Rita
Good Morning Good Morning
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)
A Day In The Life
run-out groove
That puts the SFF/PL single back in the album, which pleases George Martin no end, I'm sure.
I also toyed with the idea of different singles back in 1967:
1) Strawberry Fields Forever / When I'm Sixty-Four - Paul swallows his pride and takes one for the team, knowing
he's got a strong A-side in the can. A world-wide #1 hit that even beat out Release Me by Englebart Bumperfink.
2) Penny Lane / Only A Northern Song - another world-wide #1, though not selling as well as SFF.
What do you think?

I'm actually with you on that one!
I really like AHDN too! But my favorite...?
