Buyer Scam?

Here's a reply from Mr. frank john... Thanks for your swift response and am glad to hear of the item's availability.I'm okay with both the present condition and the final price given.Now,I'll want you consider it sold to me,as am ready to make an outright purchase of it immediately.
To facilitate this transaction,I'll want you to provide me your payment details,such as name and physical address,to overnight you a cashier check.

A friend had a similar experience when selling a car about three or four years ago. The scam artist was to send a transport company to pick up the car and my friend was to pay them for transporting it. He recieved a cashiers check from the scammer but would not release the vehicle until funds were collect by the bank. Of couse the check which looked legit even to the bank was worthless.

Update:

I too have now received an email from Heller Gredenko.

I want everyone out there to Google "Heller Gredenko" and find out he is a FRAUD.
He claims to be a Hydrograher and wanted to purchase my trailer.
He didn't even release my trailer is for the road!!!

Be careful, Heller Grendenko is a FRAUD!

Welcome to the forum, David! Thanks for the good intentions with the head-up for those who didn't get the reference, but believe me, we all take this issue extremely seriously.

I've gotten those emails too Steve and it's definitely a scam. However, they have your phone number, so don't do anything or respond in any way to them.

GEEZ!!!!! I DO take these things seriously, David!!!!! I was only trying to show that I got the reference to The Police tune he was referring to!!!!!!!!

I am always surprised that no one can write proper English when they write these out. Can you imagine how much more successful they would be (unfortunately) if just one of them wrote up a reply in proper English and then passed it around among themselves? Or those Chinese takeout menus that read like gibberish. Surely, some employee for them could write it properly but they all use the same printer who cannot write it properly.

I just had this happen to me when I was trying to sell my 65 Mustang. It got so crazy, the other day I got an e-mail from craigslist telling me my posting has been flagged for removal. For a 1993 Ford Expolder. I NEVER POSTED THIS! I DON'T OWN THIS CAR, NOR EVER HAVE! Someone hacked my account. It will be the last time I use craigslist for anything. eBay from now on.
