But I think I've finally surrendered to the Rick gods. I can play a Rick better blindfolded than I can play a Jazz or a T-Bird with my eyes open, staring right at the neck.

The Rick scale, neck, string spacing, balance, and the feel of that treble pickup surround are just too ingrained in my head at this point. I can play other basses, but I can play my Ricks better.

So the back up to my Rick...is another Rick!

Like I said earlier theres nothing like a Ric.

I play my Ric better than any other Bass also.

But I keep it away when not being played. I like to have something just to grab ( other than the wife) sitting on a stand. With 2 teenagers and an 85 pound dog in the house theres no way I would risk the Ric getting knocked over accidentally.

Plus I love how the Tbird plays and sounds.
