I knew of Bryce's riding "habit" but considering his bass collection and what playing must mean to him, I thought it would be easier to borrow a bike. I didn't know he's got $6800 wrapped up in his set of wheels!

Are we talkin' bike or MC here? I had the impression he meant "motorcycle". It's gotta be the way to tour, once you've made it out of London. Depending upon its size, it could be good for city stuff, too.

we're talking about a bicycle, a la Tour de France...living next to the Rockies back in Canada was an ideal setting for the sport. i find much more satisfaction in riding up to a mountain summit via my own engine as opposed to a motorcycle - but it takes a little while longer

i'm hoping to make a trip to the Alps while over here.

Nice bike, Bryce. I need to get me a roadie one of these days. I have a couple of mtn bikes; my hard tail gets the nod when I ride on pavement.

I agree with you about preferring to pedal yourself up the mountain to riding a motorcycle. Its kinda funny: When my brother and I were kids, we were always pretending our bicycles were motorcycles and dreaming of one day owning a big road bike. Now that I have one, I prefer the bicycle! Sometimes the motorbike is handy, but if I can get out on the pedal bike, its more fun. Less pollution, less noise, less vibration....ahhhh...Now if I could just retire already and ride my bicycle full-time! I rode all three days last weekend (Labor day weekend for us in the States for those who didn't know) and I can't wait to get on it again.

I'd have to say though...I couldn't be without either for that long. You need to get yourself a Rick in London, my man!

Isn't it funny that we "drive" a car, and "ride" a bicycle, when, actually, the reverse is true? We are the engines on bicycles, "driving" the wheels ahead with muscle power. We only really "ride" in a car, while the ignition of highly refined decomposed plant and animal matter does the "driving."

Interesting point, Paul. Who was that comedian who had all of those similar ironies?

He had all of those: "Why do we park on a driveway and drive on a parkway," type observations?

Both Gallagher and George Carlin pointed out things like that.

Jeff, you may be thinking of Steven Wright, the one with the monotone, deadpan delivery. He comes up with stuff like "can you garnish the wages of a parsley farmer?"

DUDE! We're well aware of that fact. Your comments however, have been FAR from constructive. They have for the most part been derogatory at least,
and downright malicious at most.
SO- maybe YOU should deal with your self before saying nasty stuff to the rest of us.
