Hi Kira,

Like many others here I had no idea of your condition and let me tell you for reasons that I won't go into, I fully understand your pain as I see the telltale signs in one that I love everyday that most people, would miss. As a result I also know a bit about courage and you have it in spades.

I am glad your health is much better and pray that it gets even better for you.

Thanks for sharing your personal story with us, that took a lot of inner strength to do that. I feel I know you much better than I probably ever would have before.

God bless.

Hey Kira, glad to hear you've found a way to get some relief! I know what that is like, I've got something similar, but it's on the right. Been living with it since sometime in 1990, doctors, chiro's, acupuncture, nobody's been able to fix it so far.

And Paul, good to hear you got some relief from your migraines! What med did you end up with? I've gone through the whole gamut myself, found one thing that kinda worked but it's been discontinued due to some safety thing. The DR's haven't ever mentioned intercranial pressure, but I'm sure there in SF you've got "higher end" docs than we've got out here in the middle of nowhere, Montana (it's 70 miles to the doctor, over 100 to a town big enough to have a K-mart).

Kira: It is good to know that you are on the mend and "getting better all the time."

With your inner strength and passion for music and life I am betting that your progress will continue.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Beer is not a problem as I never did acquire a taste for it.

Kira when we briefly met at SoCal I to had no idea of the pain you have endrured. It is a true test of ones fortitude to withstand suffering and continue to look on the positive side of life. Not many people have that gift and I am sure it has been an assistance in your recovery. I am sorry for all the pain you have had to go through and wish you a painfree life.. I wish you could have spent more time at the confluence but I am glad you managed to arrive at all. I am very happy that "life is good again!" :D
Did you have that beer yet? I am sure it will go down very easily..... mine always do!

Well I thought it would be a good occasion to revive this thread with some bad news and some good news.

First the bad: My ongoing road to recovery has been rocky, and I'm sad to say that my condition is no better than last I reported. If anything I'm less mobile than I was then, and the pain in my back persists without any letup. That's a bummer. And if my physical condition has dived a bit, my financial life has completely crashed and burned. It was a very rough winter on a number of levels. Had to sell the little surrey too.

I thank my forum friends who've been privy to my situation and offered me their unflagging support.

Now the good news: We got news of the judge's decision on my disability case and the decision is positive. In other words I'll be receiving proper medical coverage and a modest regular monthly income for the coming future, and a retro payment to help me recover from two years' debts that I've incurred. To put it in a nutshell,

I WON!!!!!

The waiting is over and the planning can begin. I want to share hugs with all the friends who helped to lighten my burden in these many difficult months. You know who you are. :) Thanks!

I'm glad the judge used compassion and good reasoning in his decision.
All the best, Kira. I hope your condition does finally improve very soon!
Maybe we'll share a real hug soon. :D
