I always thought of myself as a blues fan. Except my real passion is for the Piedmont style of old guys like Blind Blake, Rev. Gary Davis, Blind Boy Fuller, Blind Willie McTell, and a modern guy by the name of Guy Davis; or for the Delta style of Robert Johnson. So I'm a little out of step here, I guess.

I would say the blues is the blues Jim and all forms should be able to be discussed.

Well, I started this thing out with great hope, and within two days there was a minor scuffle as some thought there was no need for a blues forum."You guys are just analyzing to death here, blues started with: It's sooo tired. It's all about the feeling."

I am still very much into the blues, but have been waffling about RR in general. I will put up some new topics in the next few days to see if we get any hits. Can I really moderate a forum at RR while staying away from the R threads?

All of the forums in Music History and Appreciation are my field not collecting Ricks. If that's ok with everyone, I'll hang around.

Please do, Charly, I'm all ears. I do love the blues and I listen often to it. There's a wealth of it in the San Francisco Bay Area, one just runs into great bands everywhere. I'd love to learn from your experiences.

I actually met and heard some great blues players in North Beach in the early seventies. Gravenites, Bloomfield and others were in residence at the Saloon (I was underage but snuck in) I jammed on bass with J.C. Burris and Mike Wilhelm regularly at the Coffee Gallery and Gulliver's for a couple of years, until I joined Mike's band. We'd all sit together at Enrico's after hours and drink coffee and smoke, well, you know J.C. had some great stories about himself and his cousin, Sonny Terry. I didn't know how good I had it.
