The Xmas lights are a nice touch...

Our bass player uses an Ampeg SVT-3 PRo with a Bill Fitzmaurice Omni10 cab. Nice sounding rig with plenty of power for onstage use. The cab was a lot of fun to build as well.
I can finally hear him cutting through as I stand in front of my 2x12 closed back ear driller. I might have to build Bill's guitar cabs and try them out.

Those PJB rigs weigh even more than they look like they would as well. Amazing range and clarity BTW.

Speaking on rigs for men, I once had a picture of my three SVT heads and cabs taken together on my parents back porch (sold one head) and one of the comments was something like: I bet you don't have much of a mosquito problem in your neighborhood.

Yeah he did, 3 SVT owners are around but far and few between .

Yeah I liked that comment, haha!. The thread as it stands now starts off somewhere right after that photo, some of it the thread was cut off, not sure how much but it would be even longer if the whole thing was still here right from the beginning.

For The Eggmen I use a Roland DB700. 250watts, 1-15 +horn, programmable preamp. And heavy as hell(luckily I don't ever have to move it).

Hello all! Just regestered, logged in and saw the bass rigs forum. I see some very cool set ups here! I have my 1979 4001 and my 1986 Kubiki Factor jamming through a great rig. I use my original SWR SM400 head bought in 1986, plug straight in with no effects, and have several cabinets to use depending if I'm playing with a pop band, acoustic boys or if I have to shut down some too loud guitarists Marshall stack. The cabinets are two original Guild/Hartke 4x10's. Original G/H cabinets don't have the piezo tweeter, never needed it, never missed it. The other two cabinets are Energy 2x15's. So the full rig is 8x10 and 4x15. My god these are awesome! I get a pressure wave in the sound I've never got from other rigs. Not Ampeg, G/K, Trace Elliott, Marshall, Sunn, Traynor, Acoustic or any others I've tried over the last 30 years. Anybody remember using the Sunn Coliseum Lead amp for bass rigs? Soooo damn loud but not very tonal, super solid state sound. I remember Chris Squire was using them in the 70's. Too bad Fender owns SWR now, at least they did when I last checked. I start with one G/H cabinet and build up from there. All four cabinets and the SWR head are incredible! Drummers love it cuz I can set up a stack of cabinets on both sides of them. They never want to hear the guitars, they always want to hear and feel the bass. Bar Tenders don't like me playing through the entire set up because it will clean all of the glassware and bottles off of the shelves making a big mess on the floor. Once a club tried to charge me for the damage, told them to bugger off and they banned our group from the place. So we changed our name and was booked again 3 weeks later! Made another mess. Well, mom always said I was messy.
