Love that song (Shake Some Action). I used to do it in a cover band.kiramdear wrote:I've got one for you. Plenty of ricks in here. The lead guitarist is an old bandmate, Mike Wilhelm, who ran with The Flamin' Groovies for several sorties over Europe. He and fellow Groovies Chris Wilson and Cyril Jordan both played ricks and gretsches. Cyril loved his transparent Dan Armstrong too. I always loved this song, knew it once when it was hip, but it washed into the backwaters of my memories for years. Now I've been searching out my old buddies online with some success and this favorite hit of theirs has been in heavy mental rotation for some days...
Yeah, I hear what you're sayin', Fatcat. I've been listening to "NBB" since its release in '68! I've learned parts of different tracks over the years but like you said, I need to sit down and learn to play each track from start to end.fatcat wrote:BTW Dave, don't stop at Goin' Back, the entire album is worth learning(but that's easy for me to say as I'm just the bassist)
So Jim, which of your faves that you've listened to, but haven't learned to play, would you tacke FIRST? Just curious. Regards.....Goofyfoot.jimk wrote:I'll do a little "let's pretend" here. Yes, it's Saturday, well afternoon, now. All the chores are done. The new 360/12 string is plugged into my Kustom. I think I'll work up one of my own songs first. Then I'll mess around with some of my favorites from years back.

Oooooo, sweet. Bought "Brothers and Sisters" when the LP was released. Miss Buddy big time. One of my fave Beatles' songs. Missed RT's WofD, though. Thanks for sharing, Jim. Best regards.....Goofyfoot.jimk wrote:goofyfoot wrote:So Jim, which of your faves that you've listened to, but haven't learned to play, would you tacke FIRST? Just curious.
