Ha! We have that same grey beast in our studio. It's the mic which refuses to die. :lol:

I knew I recognized that general shape!

We used to use several of those PL series mics back in the early/mid 80's!

Looks like an old Electro Voice PL80. If so, it would be a supercardioid, usually used as a live vocal mic.
