Good score! I'm usually not one for 650s, but the turquoise finish with natural neck on these is so cool - like the old '50s combos.

Thanks very much everybody.I am always dug the "Retro-Modern" look of the Atlantis and I don't think I have seen alot of them on Ebay so I figured I'd take the plunge. After I bought it and paid for it the seller sent me this email:
"Hi thanks for buying.
I had this one e-mail and it said-Hi. Just thought I'd let you know that this isn't a 650 Dakota. This model is called 650 Atlantis.
Just wanted to make sure you wanted this guitar yet.
Looked it up on google and it says alantis iis discontinued- Has some very good write up
on it. they really like it . I do not know -might be a guitar with a good value
please advise if you still want it, I can return paypal.
Might worth more than a dakota. I do not know much about these things
thanks"

Thanks Ken! There is
another 650A Atlantis on ebay. I thought it is interesting that both this one and mine were made in 2000 and both are from sellers in Ohio.

If you're looking for a Tele, and are open to new ideas... There's a guitar called the Squire Vintage Classic 50's telecaster. It has a pine body (like the original) and all the gear heads on the Gear Page that are usually quite snobby with their gear are just gushing over these $300 guitars! Apparently the neck pickup could be better, but the fit and finish/bridge pickup/playablity is amazing for the price!
