To me it doesn't matter, they're both terrible.
have you ever tried them? or are you just being the stereotypical guitar player?
I didn't like the idea until i tried the game, it's all in good fun.

Me? ...Square? Heck no, I'm a hep cat! and groovy, too!
It's a pretty fun game.
You have a bunch of colored dots flying towards you on a makeshift fretboard, and when they get in their little "cursors" you have to hit that button on the guitar shaped controller, and hit the "Strum" bar. All this is done to the beat o some well known songs so it isn't as hard as it sounds. I think it's a fun game, but some people seem to think there's a war between musicians and gamers.
Like I've said before, any gamer who thinks there is ANY musical merit to these games is the same guy who mentions that he has a Level 60 paladin in World of warcraft during job interviews.
That being said, Gutiar Hero helped me strengthen my pinky (which I can now use to play real guitar) and helped my timing quite a bit.

A friend left a video game system and the RockBand game at the band house for a week. I played drums and got pretty good. I think it's useful, for sure, but if non-musicians learn it, thinking it's like guitar, they're in for a shock.

Beatles sex toys.
I imagine there being vibration to the tune of "I wanna hold your hand"
Sure that wouldn't "A Hard Day's Night"? Even "Norwegian Wood" . . . or "Please Please Me" . . . and if it was yellow, well, nevermind.
Now that's hilarious! You forgot "I've Got A Feeling".

Heck, that's just the beginning of possibilities with such a rich catalog! Let's not forget such classics as "Come Together", "Don't Let me Down", "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey", "I Feel Fine", "It Won't Be Long", "Twist and Shout", finishing up with "I'm Down".
Now for a different demographic, I was thinking the makers of such toys might want to feature a memorable Gerry and the Pacemakers tune.

I am terrible at it, but I have gotten SO many new guitar students through the game, so I can't really complain!

So it looks like a guitar and makes loud, rock and roll sounds, yet doesn't really take much musical ability to do it.......... kind of like a Stratocaster at the Guitar Center on Saturday afternoon....

Teb - Exactly!!!!!!!!!! LOL!
JB - When it came out I hoped it would spark interests in many to learn. I'm glad to hear I was right about something for once, and especially that you can benefit.

Of course I've tried it, it's everywhere. Watch the South Park episode about it, that pretty much sums up my feelings.

Lol, that's a pretty good episode!
Of course, saying that a satire explains your feelings exactly kinda makes it seem irrational.
