Thin neck on it?

It's an 89 Jerry. If it's like my 89 4003S the neck is very thin!

Yup, the neck is thin. Just about the same as my '87. I should double check on the year though - may actually be a '90.

All three of my Rics are S type. I love em! Binding and triangles look cool, but the binding is annoying. My '89 4 string has a very comfy neck. The '93 8 string is great as well. And the '92 CS is in a class of its own! Feels like a toothpick around the 12th fret.

My '91 S is my go to bass right now. Since I put in the '73 neck higain and the Sergio's magnetic shoe horsey, it is very hard to put down. I never bonded with this bass and was considering moving it, then had an opportunity to put a magnet shoe'd pickup on and am really glad I did. Wonderful neck, , body, feel, and tone.

I just double checked the SN. It is a '91.

No S for me . I cant sell enough stuff fast enough . Someday .
