Thanks Ilan,
I asked them if they take paypal yesterday, still waiting for a reply...
Did you order it to your place? I had Kareene's mother's address in the states as the shipping address, this complicated things, I guess.
My shipping address is in Israel, yes. But now I can't find the PayPal option on their website... maybe I did pay with a credit card. Anyway, like I said, I can order for you if you want.
Ginger can use RW strings on her 4002 due to the ebony fingerboard, although there will still be some wear over the years. Phenolic fingerboards work great with rounds as that is what I have on my fretless Zon; I do have TI Acousticores on my fretless Rick Turner, but these strings are probably more forgiving than nickel or especially, stainless steel.
I guess there will be as many opinions as posters. Proves the fact that it is a matter of personal preference. I haqve both 4001FL amd 4003FL and I am very happy with my La Bellas on them. Feel great, low tension and great Ric tone.
I've had TI flats on my '73 FL for about 3 years and they just sound better with age. I like the Bwah sound I get from RW's but I don't want to damage the beautiful rosewood. I also shunted the cap which gives it a huge woody sound.
Fender has reformulated their flats. They now have great consistency, tone, even a subdued growl that chromes just don't. After 35 years as a roundwound guy, I'm switching to these. Besides L, ML & M gauge sets, there is a set that the word on the street is that they're coming out in January of a 9050CL, custom light, 45-60-80-105. This is near to RIC stock gauges, and they have great balance, and the low E string definitely still has the flexibility needed to have consistent tone across the board and up the neck.
