Welcome to the forum Jim. It sounds to me you would like the finger spacing of the 660 better. Since all Rick pickups have the same footprint I would buy which ever guitar you would feel most comfortable with playing and swap out pickups if need be. You may also want to look at the 650 guitars. If you choose the 620 my local dealer has a new 620 in Midnight Blue in stock ( it was there yesterday). PM me if interseted.

Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.

I haven't posted here in awhile, and I'm probably too late on this one, but my personal preference is the 660. I had a beautiful 370/6 which had the same neck profile as a 620, and it just didn't suit me. I sold it and bought a 660, which fits me to a "T" for both neck width and sound. I also play mostly 60's and 70's through a Fender Deluxe Reverb, the big brother of your Princeton.

If you want the string spacing of the 660 but not toasters, you could get a 650 and a pair of Hi-Gains for well under the cost of a 660.ken_j wrote:You may also want to look at the 650 guitars.
Actually, Rick humbuckers are not as thick tonally as PAFs or something---if you try them you might decide they work for you as they are.

I ended up ordering a Fireglo 620 from Wildwood. They had a fine looking one in stock, so I took the plunge. It'll be delivered on Monday. YIPEE!!!

I saw that one on their website. I've gotten 2 Rickenbackers and and a Strat from Wildwood.

I received the 620 today!!! Given that it's <0 degrees F outside right now, I left the guitar in the box in my music room for 6 hours, then took the case out of the outer cardboard box. I have not opened the case. I plan to do so tomorrow. Wildwood told me only a few hours would be necessary to wait before opening the case, but I'm going to hold out for >12 hours just to be sure. Hopefully, the right guitar's in there!
