Have they called you in for rehearsal yet, JDog? If and when they do, you might wanna bring both the 4002 and the '73 to the band room and see which one of the two meshes better with their sound. You can also ask the other band members which one they like better. I'm thinking you really can't go wrong with the 4001, though.

That's a good idea. As much as I want to be seen and photographed with the 4002, I think the 73 may be best.
I need to buy a bass amp on the way to practice tomorrow. Any recommendations? Something that will sound great with a Rick, have a line out for the house, has wheels, won't break my baCk or baNk, will be loud enough for a medium sized theater-style venue, and will fit in the back of the Prius (for an idea of space, I can stand up about 8 or 9 Rick cases with the back seat folded down). Suggestions please. I keep hearing about these Ampeg things???

I dare you to wear a Starland Vocal Band T-shirt.

Dude, that is exactly the kind of jack*** I am. I would love to do that. But it's someone else's band, so I best not.

Are you looking for a combo or head/cabinet? Look at the Markbass gear, you wont be disappointed.

Whatever's more portable, I suppose a combo.

Got home from practice a little while ago. Got some kind of really heavy SWR combo amp. The 4002 wins hands down. More sustain, better hard rock tone, no contest. The 73 was wimpy in comparison, despite its great tone and clank. I had the E string down to D on both.

Don't forget to pick up a rattle can of black Krylon and to spray the 4002 with before the gig. The sooner the better, because you want to let it dry at least 24 hours before handling it. Oh, and don't forget to toss that WUTZ t-shirt in the laundry today.

Done already, and I made sure to cover up that nasty checkered binding, yuk!

But... then it would be clean.

Oh, and we do expect photos of the gig, JDog. Goes without saying...but I said it anyway.
