Jetglo,OR if you want something really flashy, buy one in the much underappreciated Midnight Blue-it looks spectacular, especially when contrasted with white binding, a white pick guard, and full width inlays!!! :D

Choosing is one thing-Finding one --Another.

I forgot to add the Midnight Blue to the poll choices; consider it a write-in.
You did have Midnight Blue as a poll choice. It is number 3 on your list.
Funny...something's happening inside my head... I hear voices...I see colors.... I feel a magnetic, compelling urge..
Must...Have...Rickenbacker...4003
You're getting delirious.

Time to call that dealer and order a 4003! Jetglo or Midnight Blue with FWI -- makes no difference!

On one shoulder; An ANGEL--
On the other shoulder, the Devil!!!

The Angel softly speaks to me:
"LNJ, you JUSt bought a new Ric; it's a fantastic MG Laredo! It will give you a lifetime of pleasure, it already has...
As a matter of fact, you've been BABBLING about it so much online, not to mention to your friends and fellow musicians who frankly could CARE LESS, and want you to shut-up about it for ONE damn second...
Why not just enjoy it and admire the beautiful 4003's that your great new friends on the RR Forum have???
SUrely, you can get much pleasure nad joy from hearing about their instruments...After all, most of them have FORGOT more about Rickenbackers than you will ever know, so why not just STFU and wait about a year or so; at least 6 months, THEN add another Bass...#9 ...to your collection..." Which you need like a 2nd *****le..."

All said very Angelically, of course...

Then the DEVIL pipes in--

"What's a matter with you A***LE? You GOt the Money? What are you waiting for?? The next recession? It's here, fool!
They're not going to get cheaper or easier to find, and G****(it, you KNOW you want one!
Plus, you have no self-control, you're an immature, arrested-development Bass Player!! who wants to do NOTHING but play bass, play bass, then post on the inter-net about playing bass-
Look- Those RR Forum People-Thye're LAUGHING at you, Thye think you SUCK cause you only have the what, one Laredo??
What right do you have to even be on that Board!!
Look MAN! Either buy that 4003 NOW, or go on TalkBass and talk about how Ampegs suck, or go on the MusicMan forum and tell Big Poppa that he's great!
HA! You call yourself a Rickenbacker enthusiast- Look at you! Pathetic"!

Wow- Pretty intense stuff.

What to do???
Gotta choose a color....

Pictures don't do justice to a modern Midnight Blue finish......just spectacular in person. I decided a few years ago that I won't buy new RIc again but if they ever offer checker binding as an option I'd be all over a new MID.

Buy that MID 330 carcass that's been floating around on Ebay and send it to a forum luthier for the CB. :D

Tough choice, Larry, Jetglo Fireglo and Midnight Blue are all great finishes.
I know...buy one of each, problem solved!

I would agrees that the fireglo finish that was done a few years ago was too pink for me. The ones that have been coming out of RIC now look excellent.
