Sorry Matt,
that was your list!
My fault, I did not read the post properly.

Hey, Matt. I hope you take it as a compliment that I remembered your list, found it again, and reposted it here with your name. I appreciate your putting the list together, and Wolfgang for his. I apologize if this issue has been covered before on this forum. Thanks, Wolfgang, for taking the time to answer my questions. The original thread had started me wondering if Matt's list should be updated, and it appears that it has been.

Glad you remembered it. It's kinda nice being able to come into any of these better forums to find the info that you want/need/ It helps a whole lot as it can be really frustrating to fish around all over the net.

It's a very informative list, Matt. I'm glad you posted it. "Words of Love" and "Dizzy Miss Lizzy" both feature George's Tenny double-tracked, to my ears.

That's probably right. I did that list four or so years ago and it was something that I came up with scanning titles on my iPod very quickly. I hadn't thought about it at the time.

geez, I don't think there is a 12-string on Matchbox or Can't Buy Me Love, not in the original recordings, however, there is a video of The Beatles in "Ready Steady Go" in which George plays his first Rickenbacker 12 string all through the show and in every song, and some of them sound completely wrong with the 12 string !

A nice list. I agree that Words Of Love and Dizzy Miss Lizzy are not likely the 360/12.

That was for a special called "Around The Beatles"..."Love Me Do" doesn't sound terrible with 12-string, neither do "Please Please Me", "From Me To You" or "She Loves You", "Can Buy Me Love" and "Twist and Shout" are all right, but "Roll Over Beethoven", "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" and even "Long Tall Sally" don't work on the 12'er to me. Certain parts of "I Wanna Be Your Man" work, while others don't. "Shout" was the best song as John and George are just chugging at chords.

they did a version of "Boys" for that special which had George struggling to bend strings on his big Ricky. It was chose in favor of "I Wanna Be Your Man"...

It was pretty horrendous, to me.

Zurdo,
please listen to the new 2009 stereo cd Disk3 track 8 Can't buy me love,
i.e to the intro, right channel only (the "electric guitar channel"), to me 360/12.
please listen to the new 2009 stereo cd Disk15 track 13 Matchbox,
i.e to the guitar solo, left channel only, you can hear the rhythm guitar quite clearly: 360/12, played by George.
John played the solo

Wolfgang, unfortunately I don't have those CDs, but one of these days I'll get them and listen to see if you're right.
