Just this past weekend I noticed some checking on my '92 V63.
I don't know what was going on with the finishes ( or this finish ) at that time, but this bass is very fragile, finish-wise. It chips if you look at it funny.
That doesn't go well with a bass that gets gigged often! :(

i think that simply can't be avoided, all those 89-94 tend to do that... some of them check even while sitting in climate controlled room...
