Recently I went into a Best Buy and asked for info on KVM switches, got help, ended up buying one, had one of those nightmares at the register where I got stuck behind the slowest customers/cashier in the world. I won't go into the details because it would take as long as the experience itself, but it was bad. I gave up and went back to the helpful sales guy, who turned out to be a manager of some sort, and he was able to ring me up back there at his station in the middle of the store, and gave me a discount for my trouble. Of course then I got home and realized I need a second USB keyboard!!!! Thought I had one but no dice.

I'm kinda ig'nant 'bout them computer s***s sometimes.

Yes, sorry to say, this is extremely old news.
When has that ever stopped us from going on about it?
I went to a local Best Buy over the weekend and was pleasantly surprised with the music department ... I asked the sales fellow if he played an instrument, and he said yes, in fact all sales people in that department could play an instrument, except for one whose expertise was in recording.

One of my sons is a district sales manager or some such in the Dallas area for Best Buy. He'll be glad to hear your experience, Gary.
They try to find competent employees, but when you have 1400 stores in the U.S. alone, and an average of 30 employees per store, it isn't always easy to have 42,000 of the best ones out there. They try and do more than just have warm bodies standing around. My son works his a-- off so I'm sure many others around him do as well.

And Timeless!

Timeless is a great place, too, but Heights is only a couple minutes from me.

To borrow a military term when calling for artillery, that's "danger close"...

I had no idea that Best Buy was getting into the high-end instrument business. The only guitars that the BB around here stocks are the low end stuff, plus things like strings, picks, straps, etc. Since we have some pretty well- known and well-stocked locally owned music stores here, maybe that is why BB hasn't started carrying Fenders and Gibsons here. I try to avoid chain stores of any kind if I can help it, but sometimes it's unavoidable.

This concept is nothing new. Sears has been selling musical instruments for over a century. They're the "biggest box" you can imagine.

I personally hope Best Buy DOES work out a deal with RIC. It would be nice to have a close place to go check out new offerings from RIC, I currently have to drive over an hour to get to a store that sells 'em!

I'm soooo glad that I'm going to be able to see the entire range of Rickenbackers in every style and color, at my local Best Buy.
I always thought that this would be a match made in Rick heaven!
