Oh, and to answer your question Mitch, guitar-comp-dist/od-fuzz-modulation-delay-reverb is the general way to go. There are those, who prefer a different order, so whatever really sounds best to you is the right way.

Now you just need to buy some effects :D . Is your amp the one with the built in effects, or is it the previous model with the stereo chorus and reverb only on it?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that your recording software is packed full of effects. You can go through them and at least get an idea of what you may want, or just choose to use those when making a recording.
