Thanks for posting those finish pictures. I know I have pictures of Paul's work around here somewhere but I can't find them at the moment. Most of them are of Paul Boyer's '72.

Even better, here's a shot of both "Minks." Jeff Thomas' revamped White '70s (left), and my restored '72 Mapleglo, both refinished by Paul Wilczynski. Ted did much of the prep work on my '72, and I am forever in his debt (because he won't send me a bill!).

That's the picture I was after! I still feel a little guilty for putting walnut wings on that beauty. She turned out to be so perfect.

Guilty? You suggested, I agreed, you put 'em on, and they look fine. Makes it even more uniquerish!

That first picture almost looks scary!

Must have been hard taking a saw to the headstock! Nice work Ted.

No saw necessary. I just heated the factory glue joints an off they came. Easy!

I have thought about how cool it would be if RIC went back to a 3-piece neck and continued with walnut wings--like this. I was right! It's cool.

Thanks! It came out pretty nicely, I think. Maybe Paul has a closeup shot of the finished product.
