That's what I do with my F1 (start out with them all the way counter-clockwise and then roll them on). I've tried. They were fun to play with for a while, but then I discovered that my favorite tone from the amp is made with them both off.

Usually, I may have the VPF up to around 8:00 to 9:00, except with the Zon, then it may go up to noon with the VLE also around noon. Of course, this is dependent on the speaker cabinet used with the amp.

You guys were spot on - what an amp!
I can't honestly believe the weight - I know what it says on paper, but it feels even easier to transport....and what power.
The tone is amazing - just as you all also said, almost custom made for Rics. I have been playing with the VLF off, and the VPF quite high, and it pretty much gives my 4003s 4004 that classic tone I've always searched for.
Got some gigs coming up, so it's guaranteed to get used as it was built to.
Thanks again guys....you've never let me down yet with your opinions.

Congrats! It's a great amp. I gave it a try at the store when I bought my Markbass NY604 cab (4x6", 600W, 33lbs.)

I'm a little guy, so a 110 lb Ampeg 410HLF and an 80 lb SVT-CL isn't very practical.

sound really good though!

That's exactly how I feel about my rig -- most bass players (with the classic SVT/fridge setup) watch me carry my whole rig and my bass in one trip, and think there's no way it'll keep up with the band -- and then they hear it. Or they hear it and then try to find it on stage -- what the heck is that little tiny thing you're standing in front of? Couldn't possibly be your rig.
My playing is a totally different topic, but the rig is sweet.
