I have the cap in on one, out on one, and switchable on 2. What I find I've done is make the main character of each bass come out to its best. They all sound Rick, but all have their own voice and that makes them unique, and tools to be used in different situations. Otherwise, other than collecting colors or having one flats and one rounds, why have more than 2? Yeah, I know... because you can!
