Yep, just trying to prove a point. The RMs are very cool, but it's only the little details that set them apart other '60s Rics.

I agree. They are no different from a 330 except for the soundhole.
What makes them valuable and collectable is that they weren't generally available in the US and therefore harder to get there and more desirable from an American point of view.
The other factors are the low production numbers, the golden era in which they were made, who used them and how many are left after Pete Townsend stopped smashing his up.

Super cool, but as a mere player I can't justify paying for scarcity. Maybe someday a reissue for me, unless I hit the big time

That one has been there a long while, and will continue to be there a long while. He's even published sales prices a grand less than on the website, and it's still a lot, considering there are better examples, even on Gbase- for less money.

yeah, that makes a big difference in price (IMO).

That said, judging from the pics--the refin was done well, by somebody who knows what they're doing. Even if they did get the shading wrong.......not a terrible price, considering that six months ago, reissues were selling only a couple grand from that price

What the heck is that? I thought the only RoMos (original or reissue) that had body binding were the 1993-12s. This is clearly not a 12-er. All the 1997 reissues I've seen have trapeze TPs. It looks like an Accent VB was added to this one. Can't tell from the photo whether it's a roller bridge or not.

This is one of 12 (6-12's, 6-6's) made as a special order for Sam Ash in 1987. They're usually referred to as the Jimmy D specials, after the salesman that ordered them. You can read more about these at Bjorn's website. At "The 1993 Inventory" page there's a link to an article by Bob Belloff about these. I have a matching 1993 also.
