I end up playing whatever feels natural. I do a lot of freeform stuff as I'm still adjusting to this 5 string (and the lack of spacing).
Typically, when I play something else it's Zeppelin, Rush or The Cure.

And as I watch the list grow as a very beginning player, I sit and wish I could play the songs that are being mentioned!
But for what it's worth I've enjoyed learning Comfortably Numb, Dogs, Another Brick in the Wall II, Money, and Us & Them from Pink Floyd / Come Together from The Beatles.
Maybe someone could throw me some recommendations for a new player to take a stab at? Working on my lessons is great and necessary. But it's fun putting it to use and playing something you know!

I'd recommend taking a stab at anything you hear that catches your interest! If it sounds fun to play, it probably will be no matter how tough it is to figure out. One way I like to do it is to get the music into some digital format on a computer. Then use something like Audacity (free download) to adjust the speed. It will let you slow it down while still keeping the same pitch, making it easier to figure out and play along.

Well, I'm sure it's a matter of opinion... and
play might be a bit of an overstatement...
