Darren, i'll do my best to make it to both of those dates, thanks mate!

Hopefully! If all it took was an operation for us to play better, we'd all sign up!
I'm with Trotty - hope you get a looker for a nurse!

Does the thought of a couple of Darren's world famous "Trottyburgers" influence your thinking at all, Greg?

Best wishes, Greg and everybody down under. I won't be there (not by my choice) but I do hope to see a pic of those hamburgers (and more!) as soon as everyone sobers up.
Now Aitch, behave yourself!!!

Sounds like a splendid time is guaranteed for all.
Ah, well, maybe next year for me ...

The Trottyburgers are one reason i want to be there.
To catch up with the "usual suspects" is the main one!
As yet i'm not sure how i'll be feeling, but if i feel half decent, i'll be there!

Greg, I think being there will help you feel better!
Are those Trottyburgers massively sized like the brontosaurus ribs that Trotty orders at the Claim Jumper when he's in California?

Yes, Joey...... they're fairly substantial although not quite in the Bronto rib league. Still can't work out how the hell he got through those..... must have starved himself for a week!!
I think he managed to get through a couple of those VG rolls as well!!

It seems the operation has gone well, got home last night and all feels good! Apparently a tendon/ligament in my elbow was squashing the Ulna nerve.
I'm all plastered up, so don't expect any of my dazzling lead riffs this afternoon!
Looking forward to seeing the guys today.

Get well soon Greg. Pretty soon you'll be able to practice some windmill action to go along with those spiffy riffs........

Trotty just loves Who numbers and you may as well look the part.

That's great news, Greg! Glad the surgery went well and you're feeling good. Enjoy the Melbourne assembly!

Well...... we assembled, we ate, we planned, we drank, we played a bit. Good fun as always!
As often happens with these things, taking pics becomes a second priority but I did snag a couple.
The local wildlife seemed pretty interested in the burger manufacture process...
Check out Trotty's buns!!
We played a few rounds of "What's That Song" where one person plays a riff or some chords from a song and the others have to name it. The first player with the correct answer then does one and so it goes around. I wanted to add something different by putting a 'bottles' flavour in it but alas some had to drive home!
Perhaps that could be a feature of future SoCal assemblies. Sure beats having to listen to Denny Pezzin!!
Greg did manage to make it along... all plastered up and in a sling, so that was a real bonus for the rest of us.
Shane brought along his recently acquired 610 FG.... what a great little guitar!! I won't divulge here what he paid for it but suffice it to say..... he should be charged with theft!!!
Thanks to Darren and Robyn for hosting another most enjoyable gathering!

It was just my arm that was 'plastered' BTW!
Great to see the guys again, not having seen Ron Viney for quite a while. Giving Aitch the traditional send-off(which seems to occur annually), and seeing what Shane "score-of-the-century" McAlpine has added to his collection!
Thanks Darren for hosting another great get-together, and for the Trottyburgers!!!
