My brother-in-law is actually in France now, he could pick it up and pay you cash on my behalf.

Sure

So that's the offset I thought was normal

And here's the actual bass taken 5min ago with my ashdown and my tecamp cabinet (the cab itself is homade)

That sure is a pretty one. If I was left handed, I wouldn't mind having that one!

Gee, it must get dark late in the day in Paris. It's about 20:30 PM there and the sun is still high.

Well that's one gorgeous bass. I'm sure Peter will give you a good price for it.

Thanks You also remark that the screws on the neck pickup are nearly white it's curious but that's where I play nearly on the fretboard always forced myself to play on the bridge but my left hand naturaly goes on the neck

At the moment i'm still in dream mode i wouldn't be scared to remove the whole electronic part with the piguard (I love to build things) in fact i'm quite exited about it (see the Tecamp cab all made by be with huge ports at the back ,I think I tuned it for a 31hz) doesn't like to be to close to a wall though . I like thing to be extremely unique but to your taste

I never make things non reversible .
I'm trying to ask friends advice too on pickups that would give much more bottom and low end (I love "fart" or "burp" i've seen called noise on a bass). Perhaps put a 3eq active if I have room (I doubt)
I don't know I'm trying to think it is true that the big problem with a MM is that from what i've read an heard it is not very versatile. But I don't know put a MM style humbucker + keep the original neck pickup ?

Ideally, buy a Sterling as a second bass (if you can afford to do so) & keep your Rickenbacker stock. I own a Musicman Stingray & I can tell you the 3-band EQ is very versatile. Another good choice is the Spector Euro 4 - they have the same pickups & construction as the USA basses do for less than 1/2 the price. I like having a few active and passive basses in the arsenal - they each have their own place for different styles of music, and even for different songs within the same style of music. If I could only bring 2 basses to a gig they would be my Ric 4003 and my Spector Euro 4. They are two very different animals, but between the two of them they can cover just about any sound you would ever need. If a killer slap sound is what you are looking for, buy a Musicman - few basses sound better for slap than a Stingray or a Sterling.

I wouldn't mod it either. Given Peter's generous offer, I think it's better to sell it and get a bass that you're really happy with.

Based on his responses Peter it seems that although he is very unhappy with his 4003 he is not interested in selling it because he does not have a left handed bass to replace it with. Perhaps you could offer him a trade?

Yes, maybe a straight swap for all three, I might be able to put some cash in too to sweeten the deal.
