Yep. A couple of JB2s.

Jim,

feed back, feed back....the flouro light ballast units and just about anything else generate noise with the RM circuit! Painfull when you take one outside your living room.

Si.......................
Amen. Not to mention sucking down the initial note and other issues.

Steve can probably verify: Doesn't Roger himself use a JangleBox onstage instead of the onboard circuit? Or is it used as a backup if the battery in the onboard circuit dies?

Actually, the best verification is from Roger himself. He's been very generous in mentioning us over the years, including a recommendation at the end of his Byrds web site FAQ:

Premier Guitar:

Musician's Friend:

... and several other places as well.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the kind words. Happy to be aboard this flight! I don't have a lot of stories. I did see McGuinn for the first time last December 08'. He's coming again to So. Cal this October. Last time Tom Petty came out for a few songs with him. The venue was real big on no photos or video....otherwise you would be seeing what I saw on YouTube.

Glad to have you finally chime in, David. I don't know how long ago it was the BD video was made, but it was so impressive (as was your playing) that it has been posted on this forum at least three different times.
Hopefully you will stick around. :D

David, couple of questions for you:

1. Do you have any other Rics besides the 370/12RM?

2. What amps do you use?

3. Do you use the Janglebox in addition to or instead of the onboard unit?

4. What strings/picks do you use?

:)

Yeah I'll stick around. If there's one thing I love it's Rickenbacker and the Byrds.

OOps, there was an earlier question. Here's the answers:

1) I have 1-370/12MG VP (basically the modern version), and 1-360/MG VP.

2) I play straight out of the PA for live (or straight into the recording device for recording).

3) I used the onboard compressor for the YouTube videos, but prefer the Janglebox. Now I just use the Janglebox.

4) I use RIC strings when they are available. Recently I've tried to match off brand strings to the same dimensions. Honestly, I want to try the Pyramid strings but they are so expensive. And Picks are .60mm Orange Dunlop.
