My new 660/12 in Montezuma Brown

I got a 660/12 about a month ago, what an amazing instrument. It plays like butter and intonates very well with that 12 saddle bridge. the strange light marks are reflections.

My new 660/6 is like the little brother to yours.

I was actually planning on getting a 620/6, with the vintage pickups option, but was totally blown away by the 660.

I'm hoping to get a 660/12 next month. Now I've just got to find one at a good price.

Jeffrey and Jeff: Beautiful guitars. The gold guard with the maplego finish is a knock-out! The checkered binding is stunning. I love the definition it gives while at the same time pulling in the black knobs and the toasters.

A friend of mine, when seeing my 660/12 for the first time, actually thought it was a vintage instrument! HOW COOL IS THAT?

Here's my lefty 660/12. This guitar is extremely light. I had a 620/12 that was much heavier.

Weight: wood is wood and one piece can be heavy and another light from the same family. Usually heavier wood has been grown in an area that has more minerials in the soil and the wood contains those minerials which add greatly to the weight

I wonder if the heavier wood containing more minerals is more stable for guitar making since it might expand and contract and flex less than the lighter wood.

Nice guitars guys. I'm in the process now of arranging a possible trade of my Jetglo 360V/64-12 for a new 660-12.
I remember reading about Les Pauls somewhere and one of the Gibson craftsmen from the 70's said that the mahogany that they were getting back then varied in weight by as much as 300% for the pieces they were using in the Les Pauls.

That is one beautiful instrument! When searching the internet for MY 660-12 , I came across pmblues in the New England area. They had just sold their last one....I opted for my second choice, a Jetglo, and I'm VERY pleased with it....however I would definitely prefer the Montezuma Brown....it is absolutely gorgeous!!
