Judging from this group, I'd say that Oscar Mayer had some of the most effective marketing ideas in history.

Bummer about Mr. Mayer, though I doubt if he lived to 95 that he ate his own products very often.

An Oscar Mayer hot dog has to be worse than a pack of smokes, right? They're both made of carcinogenic tar, I'm sure.

NEWS FLASH!!!! Wienermobile crashes into Wisconsin house. Oh the humanity!

Yes folks, not only is poor Oscar dead (which is bad enough....) but his wiener recently suffered serious front end damage when it crashed through the front of a house. The oversized "Wiener of Doom' was being turned around using a residential driveway when the driver mixed up the meanings of the "D" and "R" on the shift lever and stomped on the gas. Oscar Meyer now delivers! - up close and personal!

Some think it was caused by a static discharge, some think it was sabotage (most likely by the Bratwurst Federation) others believe that large portions of the Wienermobile were accidentally made with chemical compounds resembling rocket fuel. In any case, O.M. officials were tight-lipped about the incident (mostly pig lips) while NTSB investigators continue to search through the living room for the wiener's black boxes.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Wisconsin, some idiot shooting off flares while celebrating the Fourth of July, accidentally set The Patrick Cudahy ham and lunch-meat plant on fire and it burned for three days, causing $50 MIllion in damages (maybe they were shooting at the Wienermobile as it drove by).

It's just not safe to eat here any more. What's next? ....a big cheese melt-down?
