Like most, none now, but back in December 63 I did queue for 16 hours to get ticket for below.

It was a real stange thing looking back, box office opened at 10.p.m on a Sunday night, one assumes to try and put off huge crowds.

Hee in UK at the time and still do to some degree we had what was known as Sunday service on public transport, which in reality meant you could not catch a bus into town centre(downtown) till about 10 in the morning, so my friends and I had to walk the 4 mile into town centre, we only just managed to catch last bus home.

We were not first in queue by any means but did manage to get very good seats near the front.

The Beatles Christmas Shows featured a number of NEMS acts, including Tommy Quickly, Cilla Black, The Fourmost and Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas, The Barron Knights, compere was Rolf Harris.



Note Roger McGuinn mentioned by Jim I think, doubt you would need to queue these days he visits UK now and then but plays very small venues.

Yeah, you're right. I just couldn't think of anyone that I would stand in line for all night long nowadays.

There was a time where I would have stood in line all night for certain bands. I wouldn't do it anymore.

There was a time when I did stand in line all night, actually several nights. But that was when I was in college and was "in shape" for all nighters. Now that I'm an "old fart", I wouldn't stay up all night even for the chance to get back stage passes to any band...


Now, I might stay up all night for a ticket to get a tour of the Rickenbacker factory...

If an artist would be kind enough to come back from the dead, I'd stand in line all night for that.

I was thinking there has never been anyone I had to stand in line all night long to see. But, there have been a few shows I've seen where I felt like I'd stayed up all night long when they were over.

I've only done this once and that was in 1980 for a Police show at the Warner Theater in Washington, D.C. in the middle of November. Cold as a well digger's a** and had to sleep on the sidewalk... if that were even possible. Once the box office opened, we were then informed that the first 200 seats were reserved for American University students -- how lovely! The only saving grace was that the Temptations and Four Tops were giving a concert that night and we caught the entire show from outside the side entrance door. The Police show was great and they were touring in support of their new release, Zenyatta Mondatta, which was the third LP. Would I do it again?? Not a chance.

I agree with Joey & CJ.....I'm too old for that now.

I'd rather go on Ebay and let some younger, more ambitious fellow make a few bucks on the tickets!

BUT, in keep with the thread.....YES, PINK FLOYD are hands down favorites. An ELP reunion would be in the running too.

Even at my rank old age I'd do it for a chance to see XTC. I missed them twice in the early 80's before Andy's self imposed exile and have never forgiven myself. Dave's gotta promise to bring his Ricks, though.
