I'm going to stick with tung oil on mine instead of Watco - I just received confirmation from the factory that tung oil is what they use over the entire guitar, neck and all. You can't go wrong following the factory recommendations!

Thanks, Ben...I knew it was more than just an oil or sealer. Nice stuff, and it provides lots of protection while being very easy to apply.

So, it seems that the best way to treat an existing maple neck would be to wipe on another coat of Arm-R-Seal with a clean cloth, after cleaning off the grunge with naphtha (lighter fluid). And, at $10.99/pint, there's a lot of material here to work with.
